April 24th, Amsterdam. On April 24, Armenians around the world commemorate the 104th anniversary of the Genocide which continued until 1923. Some three dozen countries, hundreds of local government bodies and international organizations have so far recognized the killings of 1.5 million Armenians as Genocide. The commemoration took place at The Holy Spirit Church in Amsterdam which is one of the oldest Armenian churches in Western Europe. On the corner of this church, there is a memorial stone with a test that says "In memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire”.
