July 6th, Amsterdam. To celebrate Dalai Lama's 83rd birthday, and his decades of work for human rights, justice, and peace, a big celebration was organized in Amsterdam. Hundreds of people gathered at the Dam square in the center of the city, with colorful Tibetan flags and cultural performances of the Tibetan community in the Netherlands. Also, the Dam was decorated not just with the portrait of the Dalai Lama, but also with big banners of inspiring leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
