December 20th, The Hague. The Urgenda Climate Case against the Dutch Government was the first in the world in which citizens established that their government has a legal duty to prevent dangerous climate change. After several appeals, today The Dutch Supreme Court ordered the State to drastically reduce CO2 emissions with 25% by 2020. Outside of the Supreme Court, people from several climate organizations were gathered with eyes painted on their hands, symbolizing 'We are watching you'. From there they walked to the Tweede Kamer, to demand radical climate action. In front of the Tweede Kamer, the group Extinction Rebellion carried out the performance Blood of our children is on the governments' hands.
