The mayor of Amsterdam, Eberhard van der Laan walks annually with many children from the primary school Frankendael, the Nelson Mandela School of Oost and students Weekend Student Project poems bear. He was also followed by hundreds of people in a silent March to the National Memorial on Dam Square. The starting point was the Stedelijk Museum at the Museumplein, and stopped at the monument to Roma and Sinti, Women of Ravensbrück and the Fallen Hear Blazer. The March ended at the Dam Square which was full. The people were following the ceremony through two gigantic screens. Also attending the ceremony were, The King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.
