December 24th, Eindhoven. The torchlight procession for peace and tolerance was held again in the city of Eindhoven on Christmas Eve. The torchlight procession is a long-established part of the Christmas season for many people in and around Eindhoven. Through this activity, the city shows that people are willing to commit themselves to a society in which tolerance and respect are key issues. Thousands of torches were lit up from 7.00 PM, also residents along the route could express their solidarity by placing candles in their windows. This year the first Torch was lit up with the World Peace Flame.
