July 11th, The Hague. The National Memorial Srebrenica-Genocide has been held every year on July 11 at Het Plein in The Hague since 1997. On this day, more than eight thousand victims of the genocide in Srebrenica are commemorated. Because of the Corona situation, just some people were allowed to stay at the square, the ceremony could be also followed via live stream. Former Minister Jan Pronk, and Minister of Defense Ank Bijleveld gave a speech. The names of the victims were read followed by two minutes of silence. This year, surrounded the square there was a temporary monument consists of 25 photos of 25-year-old Bosnian-Dutch youth.
