December 18th, Arnhem-Nijmegen. Today, hundreds of farmers and construction workers on tractors gathered all over the country, as they continued their protests against government efforts to cut back on nitrogen compound pollution as well as low supermarket food prices. In Arnhem, around 400 Dutch and German farmers gathered with their tractors in front of the provincial government office. In Nijmegen, around fifty tractors and trucks, blocked the traffic circle Keizer Karelplein, which is one of the most important access routes to the city. The Mayor of Nijmegen, Hubert Bruls left the council meeting to talk to the farmers and give them an ultimatum, after a few words and some tension the farmers left the place.
