May 4th, Nijmegen. On this day, several ceremonies remember the victims during WWII. The commemorations took place at the "Kitty de Wijze", a monument that it has become the symbol of the Jewish in Nijmegen who were deported and never come back. This year because of the current situation, the ceremony was held without an audience, just with the presence of Rabbi M. Levin and Mayor of Nijmegen Hubert Bruls. The memorial service in the Sint Stevens church was canceled this year. At the "Keizer Traianusplein", where two monuments in remember of the victims of the WWII stand up, Mayor of Nijmegen gave his traditional speech, followed by two minutes of silence. The whole ceremony was live stream via Facebook.
