June 19th, Amsterdam. Sarah Hegazi, an Egyptian queer communist activist woman, died by suicide on June 14, 2020, after being brutally and violently imprisoned by the Sissi regime. She was imprisoned after waving a rainbow flag at the 2017 Mashrou Leïla concert. In Amsterdam, people gathered around the Homomonument (a memorial that commemorates all gay men and lesbians who have been subjected to persecution because of their homosexuality), to honor and celebrate the life and bravery of Sarah.
